I will be the most dapper semi-dressed man at the ball. Until they throw me out for wearing nothing but boxer shorts and an oversized bath towel festooned around my shoulders as a cape.

I forgot about the tie! Boxer shorts, tie, cloak (towel). It all makes sense now.
I don't know if I'll strike fear into the hearts of evildoers, but I'll strike fear into someone...
Just don't get the towel/cape caught in the revolving door. You wouldn't want to look silly.
Striking fear into the hearts of many is entirely possible without doing any of that.
